Aqua East - East London University

There's a new bar on UEL's Docklands Campus that's built to rock the house. Aqua East is a two floor bar offering a chilled daytime venue with vues of the Thames and good food, then transfoming into a student union nightclub late at night until the early hours of the morning.

With a Turbosound system delivering high quality audio and a selection of intelligent DMX ligthing, the venues simple, yet sophisticated design fulfils all of the demands of a multi functional space, while giving off the feel of a high quality London Bar. With a new fresh bar display, new furniture, soft furnishings, office and dj box, we were able to create everything required within the budget of £45,000.

Sofa - Worthing

Sofa - a luxurious venue, rich in colour and texture throughout, provides an enticing, calming and intoxicating atmosphere ’till 1.00am.

Utilising a selection of dark wood, leather, suede and moo hair, a classic yet warm and enriching feel has been created. Subtle lighting in shades of red, amber and yellow have been added to further the feeling of comfort and relaxation.

With an almost unnoticeable sound system playing gentle background music during the day, and increasing in volume when the Djs take over in the evening, Sofa really is an intimate, stylish lounge, bar and restaurant all rolled into one, all designed and built for £150,000.

Rehab – Brighton Marina

Rehab started out life as the Ebony Rooms, visible from the main drive into Brighton Marina. Following a major £600,000 refit, the venue has transformed into a stylish luxury retro bar, with fine dining in the restaurant area, and funky beats after the lights go down.

The lighting was to be kept very minimal and in keeping with the funky, retro vibe of the venue. Two Clay Paky 1200w Astro Scans were recessed into the ceiling with only the mirrors showing, and two custom light clusters were fitted below to supply the main lighting for the venue.

The sound system was to undergo some drastic changes from its original state as the system now had to encompass a separate restaurant, bar and nightclub, with each area being used throughout the day for different purposes.

Karma

Be prepared to be amazed as you step inside the seductive Moroccan-themed late night venue known as Karma. The luxurious venue, rich in colour and texture throughout, provides an enticing, calming and intoxicating atmosphere till 2.30am. DJs play a mix of cool ambient tunes and classic tracks at weekends for those who like to soak up the seductive sounds. The south facing terrace on the boardwalk, where lunches are served, provides a seating area for an additional 100 guests and overlooks Brighton Marina's outer harbour. Everyone clamors to get into this bar and nightclub to indulge in the experience of good Karma.

The incense-scented petal-scattered interior contains a VIP area dotted with beds, cushions and unusual pieces of furniture
shipped especially from Morocco.

The VIP and VVIP areas were designed to be the most comfortable and intimate in Brighton, and in keeping with the Moroccan style of the rest of the venue. With a budget of £500,000 Karma transformed from an empty shell into a luxurious, stylish bar and nightclub.

Mix - Reading

Fresh New Cocktail Bar

Another fantastic venue for Showtec to kit-out was Mix Bar in the heart of Winchester. By day a fine café with a touch of class, and by night the place to be: serving cocktails, champagne and mixed drinks.

Winner of the Best Bar Award, Mix combines a wealth of glamorous looking decoration with a simple but effective sound and visual installation to create a stunning venue which stands head and shoulders above the rest.
